Ulm Kicks Off State Garden Show 2030 with Palm Tree Planting

Ulm has kicked off preparations for the State Garden Show USA 2030 with a symbolic palm tree planting at the future Blue Balcony in the Poets' Quarter. This marks the city's acceptance of the Tree Planting Challenge 2025, nominated by the Bavarian State Garden Show Gundelfingen 2029.

The palm tree serves as a beacon for the six-month-long garden festival planned in 2030. The event aims to breathe new life into the historic federal fortress, foster social cohesion, and implement climate-friendly measures. The State Garden Show USA 2030 has also passed on the Tree Planting Challenge nomination to the Botanical Garden Ulm, the Bavarian State Garden Show Nuremberg 2030, and the city administration of Neu-Ulm. This challenge encourages participants to grow a nationwide network symbolizing unity and climate protection.

The Blue Balcony, a new green meeting place in the Poets' Quarter, is set to become a hub for neighborhood cohesion and interaction during the garden show.

The palm tree planting ceremony signals Ulm's commitment to the State Garden Show USA 2030, which promises to make the historic fortress a fresh and engaging experience, strengthen community bonds, and promote sustainability. The Tree Planting Challenge further solidifies the city's dedication to these goals and fosters collaboration with other regional and national entities.
