Ulan-Ude's Cultural Renaissance: Renovations, Awards, and a Futuristic Library

Ulan-Ude has seen a series of cultural upgrades in 2024, with renovations, new equipment, and fresh funding for key facilities. The city's art schools, libraries, and cultural centres have all received attention, while local talents continue to earn top honours in national competitions.

The year began with improvements at the Aviaitor Culture Center in the Soldatsky district. The venue completed renovations, offering updated spaces for community events and performances.

Art School No. 1 was named the best in the Far East, highlighting Ulan-Ude's growing reputation for arts education. Meanwhile, other children's art schools across the city received new musical instruments and equipment, giving young students better resources for learning. Two libraries are set for major transformations. The Arkady Gaidar Library on Geologicheskaya Street will become a children's cultural and educational centre. In 2025, the library in the Zagorsk microdistrict will reopen as a futuristic space themed around airports. Funding has also been approved for the City Cultural Center. The money will cover design work and cost estimates for necessary repairs, though no new cultural or educational buildings are currently planned. Beyond infrastructure, local talent has shone brightly. Thirty contestants from Ulan-Ude won Grand Prix titles at various festivals and competitions, showcasing the city's creative strengths.

The upgrades to libraries, schools, and cultural centres reflect Ulan-Ude's commitment to arts and education. With renovated spaces, new equipment, and ongoing funding, the city's facilities now better support both learning and creative expression. The achievements of its young artists further underline the impact of these investments.
