The stage of Theater Freiburg's Kleines Haus will come alive on September 26, 2025, as the theater premieres its first production of the 2025/26 season - the eco-friendly musical "Wasserwelt. Das Musical". Directed by the new artistic director, Felix Rothenhäusler, this captivating production tells the story of a deep-sea crab captivated by light, embarking on an adventurous journey to the sea surface.
Along the way, the crab encounters plastic pollution, whales, and humans, addressing themes of climate change and biodiversity. The musical is a unique blend of powerful visuals, humor, and strong songs, making it an unmissable event for theater-goers.
The creative team behind "Wasserwelt" includes Felix Rothenhäusler as the director, and Jan Eichberg, Jo Flüeler, and Moritz Widrig as the writers responsible for the text and music. The production is accompanied by an exhibition from MARUM Bremen starting September 27, 2025, in the theater foyer.
This is Rothenhäusler's first production as the new Intendant of Theater Freiburg. The MARUM Bremen exhibition, which opens at 5:30 PM on September 27, promises to be an enlightening complement to the musical, further emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.
