The Annual Hunters' Celebration is Now Underway
The small town of Neheim in Arnsberg, Germany, was abuzz with excitement as the annual Neheimer Volksfest got underway. The festivities began with a "Bavarian Evening," bringing a taste of traditional Bavarian culture to the town.
The Neheimer Volksfest, a much-anticipated celebration in Neheim, took place in the festival tent on the town square. This year, a unique collaboration was announced between the local Neheimer hunting association (Neheimer Jagdverein) and Veltins brewery, based nearby in Meschede. While there is no widely documented history of their cooperation up to now, it seems that this partnership will extend until 2024.
Arnsberg's mayor, Ralf-Paul Bittner, was present at the tapping of the barrel, marking the official start of the festivities. The beer in the barrel was none other than "Bayreuther hell" from the Bayreuth Brewery, but Veltins' sales manager, Rainer Emig, was also present to mark the occasion.
The first-ever tapping of the barrel at the Neheimer hunting association was performed by Fabian Veltins, the Marketing Manager of the Veltins brewery. A large beer garden area was set up around the festival tent by the hunting association this year, providing ample space for revellers to enjoy the summer temperatures.
As the evening wore on, the show brass band "Allgaeu Power" ensured the right meadow atmosphere, a tradition they have been upholding at the Neheimer Volksfest for a few years now. The orchestra of the Neheimer hunters, led by Klaus Lammers, also contributed to the musical framing of the event.
The Neheimer Volksfest is an annual event, and this year's celebration was no exception. With the new partnership between the Neheimer hunting association and Veltins brewery, it's clear that the festivities are set to continue for many years to come.
