Ten Thousand's Unsanctioned 10K Race Challenges NYC Runners with Burpees

Ten Thousand, a fitness brand, is hosting an unsanctioned 6.2-mile race in Manhattan this Friday, October 10. The event, starting at 6:00 p.m. at 14th Street Park, challenges runners to complete 250 burpees during the race. The $100 buy-in event promises a $5,000 prize for the toughest athlete in NYC.

The Ten Thousand 10K race will take place over 25 laps around a block in the Meatpacking District. Runners must perform 10 burpees per lap. The brand aims to 'crown the toughest athlete in NYC' with this grueling event.

The event was first announced in early September, with top Hyrox athletes Dylan Scott and Jack Driscoll among the selected participants. Represent, a U.K.-based fashion brand, hosted a similar event in July, featuring 100 participants in teams of five.

Ten Thousand's unsanctioned 10K race promises a tough challenge for participants. With a $5,000 prize and top athletes already signed up, the event is set to be a test of endurance and strength in the heart of Manhattan.
