Tallinn's Kadriorg Park Welcomes a Hand-Built Snow City This Week
A new snow city has appeared in Kadriorg Park this week. The project brought together students, workers, and amateur architects to build an entire city from snow. Shovels, water, and teamwork turned the idea into reality.
The construction began when some of Tallinn's best amateur architects gathered in the park. They were joined by students from two local schools: Tallinn Secondary School of Science and Südalinna School. The latter even left their Russian language class early to take part.
Students from Tallinn Secondary School of Science applied their engineering and economics skills to help design the snow city. Meanwhile, a few dozen workers provided extra hands for shaping and packing the snow. One participant, Kristofer, later described the atmosphere as full of teamwork and laughter—with no injuries reported.
The builders used only basic tools: snow, shovels, and water. Together, they transformed a patch of Kadriorg Park into a temporary winter attraction.
The snow city now stands as a collaborative effort between schools, volunteers, and local architects. It adds a new feature to Kadriorg Park, built entirely by hand in just a few days. The project relied on simple materials but brought together different skills and enthusiasm.
