Sundays afford a unique peek into the hidden vaults of riches.

The city museum in Wolfsburg, Germany, is inviting the public to a unique event on September 21, 2020, at 2 pm. The museum depot, which is usually inaccessible, will be opened for a behind-the-scenes look at the museum's collection.

This special event is taking place at Schloss Wolfsburg and is being organised by the city of Wolfsburg. The depot tour aims to make the museum depot an accessible resource for changing exhibitions and loan requests from other museums.

During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to see various items stored in the depot, including portable radios, mechanical typewriters, a retiree's gift, and a marching band uniform. The cataloging of the collection in a database will be explained, and the museum director will be present to guide the tour.

Registration for the depot tour is via email or phone at [email protected] or 05361281040. The number of participants for the tour is limited to 15, so it's important to register in advance.

The depot tour is a companion event to the participatory exhibition #zusammen - Your Story in Wolfsburg. The event is being held at M2K in Wolfsburg, and only the museum entrance fee is charged for the depot tour.

It's worth noting that the depot tour will highlight gaps in the museum's collection, and the objects stored in the depot include various items donated by citizens. The collection curator, Dr. Arne Steinert, will be present to provide further information.

The depot tour will provide a fascinating insight into the museum's collection, and it's an excellent opportunity to learn more about the museum's efforts to make its resources accessible for future exhibitions and loan requests. We hope to see you there!
