Summer photographic competition by Adra is back on track

The picturesque town of Adra, Spain, is gearing up for the 33rd edition of its annual photography competition, the Adra Photographic Rally. From 25th July to 3rd August, amateur photographers are invited to showcase their skills and capture the essence of Adra through their lenses.

This year's competition will conclude with an exhibition of the best photographs at the 'Ciudad de Adra' Auditorium, running from 1st to 30th September. The event is organized by the Town Council through the Department of Youth and is supported by local businesses Fernando Fotografía and FotoFerrer.

Participants are encouraged to submit 10 titled photographs that capture the spirit of Adra, with an emphasis on key landmarks such as the Adra River, public service areas, religious heritage sites, and sporting activities. The rest of the images will be of free subject matter.

The competition features several categories, including a special prize for the best collection, best black-and-white photo, and a youth category for entrants under 18. In addition, the top 100 photographs will receive prizes, with a total value of up to €350.

Registration will take place on July 25 at the Centro de Interpretación de la Pesca. To take part, entrants must adhere to the competition's rules, which include submitting their photographs digitally via WeTransfer and ensuring they have the rights to submit their photos.

A professional jury will select the top 100 photographs, and the winners will be announced at a later date. The selected photographs will be displayed in the final exhibition, which is open to the public from 1st to 30th September.

Mayor Manuel Cortés, Youth Councillor Antonio Sánchez, Miguel Ferrer, and Fernando Fernández have all voiced their support for the competition, encouraging residents and visitors to take part.
