Stephens Waring Design Unveils Immerst: Modern, Sustainable Homes for Diverse Environments
Stephens Waring Design has introduced Immerst, a novel range of modern homes designed to blend seamlessly with diverse environments, from land and sea to forest canopies.
The Immerst concept is built on a modular design, allowing for easy expansion and combination of multiple units for larger developments. Each home is constructed using sustainable materials like cross-laminated timber, marine-grade stainless steel, glass, and advanced composites.
The Immerst range aims to immerse owners in their surroundings, with initial concepts including the Alpine Jewel, a compact 350 sq ft cliff house, and the Canopy, a 420 sq ft treetop eyrie. More details can be found on the Stephens Waring Design website.
SWD's U.S. studio, with over three decades of experience in sustainable yacht design, has influenced the Immerst concept. The homes will feature integrated systems for light, heat, water, and drainage, ensuring comfort in challenging environments. The studio has also developed floating homes using an Ocean Architecture System (OASys) to minimize environmental impact.
The first Immerst projects are currently under construction in the United States, marking an exciting step in sustainable, environment-conscious housing.
