St. Ingbert Honors Eight Winners for Nature-Friendly Gardens
St. Ingbert's annual garden competition culminated in the presentation of the St. Ingbert Garden Plaque for 'Nature-Friendly Gardens' to eight winners. The event, held at the Biosphere Market in the town hall, celebrated regionality, sustainability, and diversity. Young families were among the recipients, serving as role models for sustainable living.
The competition highlighted the importance of nature conservation in our own gardens. Winners stood out for using native plant diversity, avoiding pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, and relying on peat-free soil. 'Wild corners' were also included to encourage biodiversity. Deputy Mayor Olaf Blaumeiser praised the participants' commitment to creating valuable habitats for wildlife. NABU St. Ingbert offers advice to anyone interested in creating a nature-friendly garden.
The event also featured the St. Ingbert Garden Plaque presentation. Despite the lack of international or national recognition, this local initiative promotes biodiversity and protects local flora and fauna.
The city of St. Ingbert thanks all participants and supporters for their dedication. The success of this year's competition bodes well for next year's event. The city looks forward to continuing this tradition and encouraging more residents to embrace sustainable gardening practices.
