Spękane Skały: A Hidden Climbing Gem in Lower Silesia

Spękane Skały, nestled in Miszkowice, Lower Silesia, is an ideal climbing destination for crisp autumn days. With its southern exposure and high sun exposure, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The area boasts around 140 bolted routes, catering to a wide range of abilities. Most routes are in the 4 and 5 range, with some 3s, 6s, and a few 2s and 7s. Nearly 90% of the routes are rated up to 6 on the UIAA scale, ensuring plenty of challenges for climbers of all levels. The highest rock stands at 25 meters, with most around 15 meters, providing varied climbing experiences.

Accessing Spękane Skały is a breeze. The approach takes just 3-5 minutes, and parking is available near the ruins of a church or closer to the rocks. Topo guides are conveniently located on information boards at the base of the rocks, and some routes are labeled directly on the rock. The rock itself is conglomerate, offering good friction and interesting climbing.

Spękane Skały is less crowded than popular areas like Sokoliki, ensuring easy access to routes even on weekends. Its proximity to Lubawka and Kamienna Góra, about a 1.5-hour drive from Wrocław, makes it an attractive climbing spot for both locals and visitors. With its varied routes, easy access, and pleasant atmosphere, Spękane Skały is a must-visit for climbers seeking a rewarding experience in the heart of Lower Silesia.
