Solingen’s Festive Swap Meet Brings Sustainable Christmas Decor to Life
The Advent Decoration Swap Meet at Solingen City Library is back, offering a sustainable way to update your Christmas decorations. This year's event takes place on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Mummstraße 10. Organised by the Consumer Advice Center, municipal utilities, and the city library, it's an opportunity to conserve resources and chat with fellow enthusiasts.
The swap meet encourages participants to bring well-preserved Advent and Christmas decorations, such as ornaments, wreaths, baking molds, tablecloths, and candles. Each item brought in earns a swap voucher, which can be redeemed for new decorative items. However, electric or battery-powered decorations, damaged items, and unrelated decorations are not accepted. Participants can bring up to five items, with multi-piece sets counting as one.
The event is not just about exchanging decorations; it's also a chance to explore offerings, draw inspiration, and connect with others who share your enthusiasm for Christmas decorating.
By participating in the Advent Decoration Swap Meet, you're helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability. It's a win-win: you get to refresh your decorations, and you're doing your part for the environment. Mark your calendars for November 15 and join in the festive spirit at Solingen City Library.
