Singapore opens 171 affordable gardening plots for three-year leases

More than 170 gardening plots are now up for grabs in Singapore. The National Parks Board (NParks) opened applications at 10 a.m. on October 8, offering residents the chance to lease a small garden space for three years. Each plot costs just $57 per year and includes a raised planter bed, soil, and a mini tool storage area.

The 171 available plots are spread across 13 community gardens islandwide. Locations include Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West, Bedok Town Park, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, and Bukit Batok Nature Park. Other sites feature in Choa Chu Kang Park, Clementi Woods Park, East Coast Park, Pasir Ris Park, Punggol Park, Sembawang Park, Sengkang Riverside Park, Tampines Eco Green, and West Coast Park.

Each plot measures 2.5m by 1m, providing enough space for basic gardening. Interested households can apply for one plot only. Applications and ballots must be submitted through AXS channels, such as the e-Station website, m-Station mobile app, or AXS Station kiosks. The booking window remains open until 11:59 p.m. on October 21. Successful applicants will secure a three-year lease, giving them time to grow plants and tend to their garden.

The initiative offers an affordable way for residents to engage in gardening. With plots available in multiple gardens, more people can access green spaces for growing plants. The application process runs for two weeks, closing on October 21 at midnight.
