Sharks Foundation Raises £500K+ for Bay Area Youth at Star-Studded Gala

The Sharks Foundation hosted its annual 'Sampling with the Sharks' event on Saturday, February 21, at the Hayes Mansion in San Jose. The evening raised over £500,000 to support underserved youth and families across the Bay Area. Guests enjoyed wine tastings, gourmet food, and exclusive auctions alongside Sharks players and staff.

The fundraiser brought together supporters for an evening of wine tasting from Northern California wineries and fine dining. A silent auction ran alongside a live auction, powered by Eventbrite, offering unique Sharks experiences. Bidders competed for packages like a team road trip and a dinner at centre ice with general manager Mike Grier.

Three speakers took the stage to share Mission Moments, detailing how the Sharks Foundation's work impacts youth education, wellness, and access to hockey. Their stories highlighted the real-world difference made by the foundation's programs.

Attendees also received a Sharks-themed tasting glass and mingled with players, coaches, and broadcasters. The event's success relied on contributions from key sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Marsh McLennan Agency, Supporting Sponsor SAP, and Auction Sponsor Ticketmaster. Additional support came from dinner sponsors and Sharks Table Supporters.

The funds raised will go toward Community Assist Grants, literacy projects like Reading is Cool, hockey access initiatives, and wellness programs. The Sharks Foundation expressed gratitude to all sponsors and participants for their role in the event's success. The money will directly benefit youth and families in need across the Bay Area.
