In the heart of Eastern Siberia, Yakutsk, a city known for its extreme cold, is taking proactive steps to maintain clean and dust-free streets. The city's latest initiative involves the use of specialised street cleaning equipment designed to handle the harsh winter conditions.

The city has introduced the Nilfisk Park Ranger, a sidewalk cleaning machine, on Lenin Prospect. Equipped with a 450-liter waste hopper, water tank, and an additional side brush with hydraulic drive, the Nilfisk Park Ranger is designed for sweeping and washing sidewalks efficiently. Robert Adamov, the foreman of the city's department of landscaping, oversees the cleaning of various streets in Yakutsk.

In addition to the Nilfisk Park Ranger, the city is also using street sweepers called "Broadway" and "Scania" for cleaning sidewalks. These machines are capable of cleaning and washing the road surface and curb area efficiently, collecting a significant amount of dust and dirt in a single night shift. One Broadway can collect two KAMAZ loads of dust and dirt in one night shift.

The city's cleaning efforts extend beyond Lenin Prospect, with the street sweepers covering multiple streets, including Avtodorozhnaya, Krasilnikova, Ksenofont Utyina, Bykovskogo, Gagarin, Kulibertinova, Sergeleyakhskoye Highway, and Novoyezdny. The city's cleaning equipment is also operating in the remote parts of the city.

People in orange vests are also working where the Nilfisk Ranger doesn't reach, ensuring that every corner of the city remains clean. It's worth noting that these machines do not clean unpaved roads or enter courtyards.

Compared to five or six years ago, the city's cleaning situation has significantly improved, especially in the central parts of the city. The city's department of landscaping, under the guidance of Robert Adamov, is committed to gradually rid Yakutsk of sand and dust on the streets through systematic city cleaning efforts.

These machines are designed to operate in negative temperatures, making them ideal for Yakutsk's cold climate. While thermal de-icers might be used in extreme cold to melt ice on surfaces, the street sweepers are the primary means of removing debris and dust from the city's streets after the snow has been cleared.

For precise information on the routes and specific equipment used in Yakutsk, contacting local municipal services or checking city government websites would be advisable. The city's cleaning initiative is a testament to its commitment to maintaining a clean and livable city, even in the face of challenging weather conditions.

The Nilfisk Park Ranger, designed for sweeping and washing sidewalks efficiently, has been introduced on Lenin Prospect, complemented by street sweepers named "Broadway" and "Scania" that also maintain the cleanliness of home-and-garden areas in various streets of Yakutsk, including Avtodorozhnaya, Krasilnikova, Ksenofont Utyina, Bykovskogo, Gagarin, Kulibertinova, Sergeleyakhskoye Highway, and Novoyezdny.

In addition to the city's cleaning equipment, individuals in orange vests ensure that every corner of the city, even where the machines don't reach, remains clean, contributing to the overall lifestyle of a dust-free city in the harsh winter of Yakutsk.
