Seniors in Komi Republic learn eco-friendly habits at creative recycling workshop

An eco-friendly workshop for senior citizens took place recently in the Komi Republic. The event was part of United Russia’s Clean Country initiative, which promotes environmental awareness and sustainable living. Organisers aimed to teach participants how to reuse old items creatively while reducing waste.

The workshop was led by Tatyana Plato, the regional coordinator of Clean Country, along with staff from the Republican Center for the Management of Protected Natural Areas and Nature Conservation. Attendees included students from the People’s University for Senior Citizens, who took part in hands-on activities.

The workshop provided seniors with new ways to repurpose everyday items. By teaching sustainable habits, the initiative helps reduce waste and encourages mindful consumption. Further events under the Clean Country programme are expected in the region.
