Schmalkalden’s Open Garden Day returns with vibrant displays and green inspiration

The 'Open Garden Day in the Schmalkalden Region and Surroundings' is set to return this summer. Scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, the main event invites visitors to explore a diverse range of private gardens. Last year, around 20 gardens took part, attracting people from across the local area and neighbouring states.

This year’s event will once again showcase a variety of garden styles. Visitors can expect vibrant floral displays, carefully tended herb and vegetable patches, and peaceful natural retreats. The initiative celebrates gardening passion rather than size, with organisers emphasising that creativity and care matter most.

Organisers are currently seeking participants for the 2026 event. No specific gardens have been confirmed yet, but those interested can contact Regina Langer for details. She can be reached by phone at 03684887513 or via email at [email protected].

The event offers a chance for gardeners to share their work with the public. It also gives visitors inspiration for their own outdoor spaces. With preparations underway, the day promises another celebration of green-fingered talent in the regions.
