Sarov's Arts School Shines After Major Renovation and Upgrades
The Children's School of the Arts (DShI) on Gagarin Street in Sarov has just completed a major renovation. The upgrades include repairs to key areas, fresh paintwork, and improved facilities for students and staff. Meanwhile, the school has also applied for further repairs to the building's roof, façade, and foundation.
The renovation covered multiple spaces within the school. In the Grand Hall, workers fixed the ceiling, while the Small Hall received a fresh coat of paint and an extended stage—now one and a half metres longer. The dance studio was also upgraded with a levelled floor, new specialised linoleum, and freshly plastered and repainted walls.
The school's restrooms were fully modernised, with all sinks and toilets replaced. Corridors and lobbies in the foyer were repainted, giving the entrance a brighter, cleaner look.
Beyond Sarov, the regional government supported ten cultural and educational institutions in 2025. Under the Development of Culture in Nizhny Novgorod Region programme, these schools and centres received new musical instruments, teaching equipment, and educational materials.
The completed renovations at DShI have refreshed its halls, studios, and restrooms. With additional repairs planned for the building's exterior and structure, the school aims to further improve its facilities. The upgrades align with broader regional efforts to enhance cultural and educational spaces across Nizhny Novgorod.
