Sark's iconic landmarks immortalized in new stamp collection by local artist
The set of eight stamps features watercolour paintings of various iconic spots created by Sark-based artist, Louise Hill.
Ms Hill said she was "honoured and delighted" as having her paintings on stamps had "long been a wish".
She said: "Each painting featured in the collection captures an iconic Sark landmark; all places of extraordinary beauty that hold a special place in the island's character and charm.
"These are scenes that local residents treasure and visitors must see."
Ms Hill said she "never tired" of painting the "infinite different scenes, in different lights and different seasons, offered up by this special island".
The stamps feature scenes of La Coupée leading to Little Sark, La Grande Grève's sweeping sands, Port du Moulin at midsummer and the "the rugged coastal formations around Les Autelets and Brecqhou".
The collection also "highlights Sark's maritime heritage", with scenes of Creux Harbour and Point Robert Lighthouse, as well as "a pastoral view across La Peigneurie" and the Buddhist Carving.
Guernsey Post will release the set at the start of next month, with a special launch event at Sark's Art Gallery and Museum on 1 April.
