Santas surprise Tallinn Zoo with festive treats for animals and children

A group of Santas brought festive cheer to Tallinn Zoo last Friday. The national society of Santa Clauses paid a special visit, treating both animals and children to seasonal surprises. Their gifts included food for the animals and sweets for the young visitors.

The Santas handed out fodder tailored to each animal’s diet. Reindeer and herbivores received fir trees and branches, while predators got meat. Willow balls stuffed with edible treats were also given to some species. These presents provided the animals with new activities and enrichment.

Nature education specialist Kaari Uibomägi explained that the gifts encourage exploration and chewing. The animals spent time investigating their new items, adding stimulation to their daily routines. Children at the zoo also enjoyed the event. The Santas gave out candy, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere for the young visitors.

The visit gave the zoo’s animals fresh activities to engage with during the Christmas season. For the children, the day offered sweet treats and a chance to meet the Santas in person. The event brought festive excitement to both wildlife and families at the zoo.
