San Francisco Bay Ferry debuts Tides and Tunes with free live music onboard
San Francisco Bay Ferry has launched a new onboard entertainment program called Tides and Tunes. The initiative brings live music to select routes, giving passengers a fresh way to enjoy their journey. Local artists perform at no extra cost beyond the usual fare.
The program aims to attract more riders, especially during the quieter winter months. Performances take place on larger vessels, with live bands and DJs scheduled for certain sailings. Passengers can now combine scenic waterfront views with music as they cross the bay.
Bay Area musician Lolah recently performed as part of the series. Another performance by Lolah is planned for January 23, though details about other artists remain limited. The ferry service has confirmed a concert series running on Friday nights in January. Passenger Kayla Brittingham called the experience memorable and exciting. She plans to keep using the ferry for both commuting and leisure, drawn by the added entertainment. The program’s success may depend on how well it enhances the travel experience for regular riders.
Live music is now a regular feature on some San Francisco Bay Ferry routes. The Tides and Tunes program offers performances without raising ticket prices. Organisers hope the initiative will boost winter ridership while providing a unique experience for passengers.
