S-Oil secures 15th straight year in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

S-Oil has once again been recognised for its leadership in sustainability and innovation. The company secured a place in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the 15th year running. At the same time, it continues to expand its petrochemical operations while investing in cleaner energy solutions like hydrogen.

The company's latest achievement follows a decade of consistent performance. In Korea's Most Admired Companies survey, S-Oil ranked first among refining firms for the 10th consecutive year. The KMAC assessment measures sustainable competitiveness across six key areas, including innovation and customer trust.

S-Oil's strong reputation comes from its focus on high-quality products and responsible management. Over the past five years, it has donated 159.5 billion won ($109 million) to social causes as part of its ESG commitments. The company also provides free gas pumping assistance at around 700 self-service stations, supporting people with disabilities, injuries, and pregnant women.

A major expansion is underway with the Shaheen Project, a new petrochemical complex set to double the firm's output by 2026. Beyond traditional refining, S-Oil is branching into new energy sectors, particularly hydrogen. Despite these advancements, no other South Korean petrochemical firms have joined the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in the last five years.

S-Oil remains a standout in South Korea's energy sector, balancing growth with sustainability. The Shaheen Project and hydrogen investments will further increase its production capacity. Meanwhile, its long-standing social initiatives and customer-focused services reinforce its position as a trusted industry leader.
