Ryobi's cordless mowers dominate Home Depot as electric demand surges

Ryobi lawn mowers are growing in popularity at Home Depot, boosting the retailer's dominance in the U.S. gardening market. Demand for these cordless models has risen sharply, driven by advanced battery technology and eco-friendly features. Consumers increasingly favour electric alternatives over traditional gas-powered mowers. Ryobi's cordless mowers stand out with 40V batteries, delivering longer runtime and greater efficiency. Their brushless motors ensure quieter operation and improved durability, cutting down on maintenance costs. Centralised height adjustment and multiple cutting settings allow users to adapt easily to different lawn conditions.

Home Depot customers value the brand's long-lasting performance and ready availability of replacement parts. Prices range from around €300 for entry-level models to €600 for premium versions, positioning Ryobi as a high-end choice in outdoor equipment. Compared to rivals like Ego and Greenworks, Ryobi offers higher battery capacity and a more rugged design. The global shift from gas to electric mowers has accelerated demand, with U.S. sales peaking in spring. Over the past three years, Ryobi has maintained a steady 25–28% share of the battery-powered garden tool market. Meanwhile, Ego's share jumped from 15% to 28% through premium innovations, and Greenworks expanded from 12% to 20% by offering budget-friendly models through retailers like Lowe's and Home Depot.

Ryobi's strong performance reinforces Home Depot's leadership in the gardening sector. The brand's combination of advanced features, reliability, and eco-friendly design continues to attract buyers. With electric mowers gaining ground, Ryobi remains a key player in the expanding cordless market.
