Rostock Christmas Market: Regional Focus for the First Time - Rostock’s Christmas Market Opens with a 20-Meter Fir and Santa’s Grand Arrival
Rostock’s Christmas Market will open its doors on Monday, November 24, running until December 22. The event, organized by Großmarkt Rostock GmbH, promises festive cheer with a strong focus on local businesses and regional flavors. Lord Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger will officially inaugurate the market’s launch.
The market will kick off with the lighting of a 20-meter-tall coastal fir from Dummerstorf. Santa Claus will make a grand entrance in a vintage fire truck, switching on the Christmas decorations for the first time. Visitors can look forward to storytime sessions and communal caroling at the Fairy-Tale Castle Stage.
The Rostock Christmas Market runs daily from November 24 to December 22. With its mix of international vendors, local traditions, and family-friendly activities, the event aims to bring festive spirit to the city. Santa’s arrival and the lighting of the giant fir will mark the start of the celebrations.
