Rolls-Royce Unveils Luxury Chess Set for High-End Players

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a luxurious chess set, designed as a fully engineered product with ceramic-coated pieces, hidden drawers, and magnet-tuned play. The set is available to commission from Rolls-Royce showrooms and Private Office boutiques, catering to high-level players among the brand's clients.

Each piece in the Rolls-Royce Chess Set is crafted from ceramic-coated aluminum with a stainless-steel head, abstracted from traditional profiles and finished in either satin black or iridescent white. The chess board is made from wood cut from a single log, ensuring consistent grain ageing. It folds open to present the pieces upright and has magnets to keep them secure during play. The board is framed with polished aluminum and has hidden drawers for spare queens, adorned with a Spirit of Ecstasy badge on both front and rear.

The set is designed for both art and practical use, with clients able to customise it with four veneer finishes and 13 leather colours from Rolls-Royce's interior catalogue. The design development was led by Rolls-Royce's design team, working closely with British experts in jewellery, metalwork, and design. Production is handled by specialists in the UK, using high-quality materials like resin, marble, and precious metals, inspired by motifs from Rolls-Royce's history.

The Rolls-Royce Chess Set is an exclusive luxury item, available only on order to Rolls-Royce clients. It serves as both a work of art and a practical game, with customisation options to suit individual tastes. The set is not manufactured directly by Rolls-Royce but is developed and produced in close collaboration with artists and manufacturers in the United Kingdom.
