Risabh Rikhiram Sharma’s 10-city India tour merges sitar mastery with mental health advocacy

Neo-classical sitar maestro Risabh Rikhiram Sharma has unveiled a 10-city India tour for March and April 2026. The performances mark the Asia leg of his Sitar For Mental Health Tour 2026, a project blending classical traditions with modern advocacy. Organised by District by Zomato, the tour is drawing fresh interest from younger audiences in classical and neo-classical music.

The announcement follows delays to Sharma’s planned 2025 India shows, which were postponed due to geopolitical tensions. This time, the musician has reaffirmed his commitment to fans with an expanded schedule across major cities.

The tour will visit Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and New Delhi. Sharma, known for merging Indian classical music with contemporary styles, will also use the platform to promote mental health awareness—a cause central to his Sitar for Mental Health initiative.

Tickets go on sale exclusively through the District app, with a 12-hour presale window from 12 noon on January 30 until midnight on February 1. General sales open at 2 PM on February 1. Kotak Mahindra Bank-Solitaire is presenting the ticketing in partnership with the organisers.

Sharma’s Sitar For Mental Health series has already gained traction globally, with past performances in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The India leg now brings his fusion of tradition and activism to home audiences, backed by growing enthusiasm among millennials and Gen Z listeners.

The tour kicks off in March 2026, offering fans a chance to experience Sharma’s innovative sound and advocacy firsthand. Tickets will remain available only via the District app, with presale access beginning January 30. The event underscores a resurgence of interest in classical music among younger generations, while reinforcing Sharma’s mission to connect music with mental well-being.
