Repairs are underway for facades and windows.

In the heart of Düsseldorf, the historic town hall buildings at Market Square 1 and 2 are undergoing a significant restoration as part of the "Renovation of Municipal Buildings" project.

The work at the interior courtyard facade of the building at Market Square 2 will include cleaning the natural stone elements in the base area, repairing and replacing damaged stone materials, and fixing cracks and damaged joints. Porous, faded, cracked, weathered cornices, quoins, masonry bricks, and joints are noticeable, indicating the visible effects of aging on the buildings' facades and windows.

Similarly, the facade at the building at Market Square 2 will be repainted, including plasterwork and crack repairs. The historical windows at the building will be maintained, repaired as necessary, and given a protective coat. Dismantling, overhauling, and reinstalling 21 protected windows will be part of the work at the building at Market Square 2.

Work on repairing the guttering will also be carried out at the building at Market Square 2. The two distinctive "blue" doors at the building will be restored. Scaffolding sheets matching the facade's appearance are being installed at Market Square 1, and work on the necessary scaffolding of the facades at Market Square 1 has already begun.

Both measures for the renovation of the buildings at Market Square 1 and Market Square 2 are budgeted at 150,000 euros each. All work at the building at Market Square 2 will be coordinated closely with the monument authority and supervised by specialists in restoration.

The town hall operations' disruptions will be minimised during the renovation. The city treasurer responsible for the Building Management Office, Dorothée Schneider, is pleased with the measures, stating that they ensure the long-term preservation of the historic Düsseldorf town hall.

However, detailed information on the restoration plan for these historical town hall buildings, including specific measures such as facade cleaning, repairs, window restoration, scaffolding, or the budgets allocated for these tasks, is not readily available from the provided data. For precise and current information, contacting the Düsseldorf city administration, the local heritage conservation office, or the architectural firm responsible for these buildings might be necessary.
