Reconstruction of Moers Canal in Unterwallstraße area
In the heart of Moers, a significant renovation project is set to take place this summer. From August 11 to August 17, 20XX, the city will witness the implementation of an inline canal renovation method in Unterwallstraße.
This innovative trenchless technology, which involves the insertion of resin-coated sleeves through canal shafts into damaged canals, cured using UV light, is set to transform the city's infrastructure. The works will take place between Neumarkt and the Trotzburg intersection.
Due to the nature of the works, Unterwallstraße will be closed to through traffic for one week during the renovation period. Traffic rerouting measures will be implemented to redirect vehicles around the construction zone. Local access to businesses and residences may be limited or controlled by the construction team, and pedestrian pathways may also be affected in the immediate vicinity of the work area.
Motorists can use the exit at the Wallzentrum on Oberwall-/ Unterwallstraße throughout the renovation. For further information, please contact Enni at the construction site telephone number 02841 104-777.
It's worth noting that this is not the first time Moers has employed this trenchless technology. Previous successful applications can be traced back to the city center, specifically at Neumarkt and in the Burg- and Haagstraße.
The renovation will be carried out by Enni, a company that has coordinated this measure with the relevant departments of the city of Moers, the police, the fire department, and the NIAG. The quick method of the inline renovation ensures that traffic in the city center area around the town hall will quickly resume after the one-week closure.
In other parts of Moers, open construction renovations are currently underway in Fieselstraße and Straße Im Rosenthal.
For those who frequent the weekly market, there's no cause for concern. The Neumarkt and Modehaus Braun will remain accessible from Huelsdonk, and the market will take place as usual.
The canal condition and gradient in Unterwallstraße allow for the trenchless renovation method to be used, eliminating the need for extensive and disruptive earthworks, reducing the impact on the surroundings for months.
Stay updated via local traffic bulletins or the municipality's official channels during this period. Plan for possible delays and increased travel time, and follow all posted detour signs and road closure notices for safety.
Firefighters might need to adjust their response routes during the home-improvement project in Unterwallstraße, as traffic rerouting measures will be in place from August 11 to August 17, 20XX. The lifestyle of businesses and residents in the home-and-garden section of Unterwallstraße may be temporarily affected, as local access could be limited or controlled during the week-long renovation.
