Rastatt’s City Park Grows Greener With 36 New Trees by December 12

Rastatt’s city park will soon see 36 new trees planted near you as part of a climate adaptation project. The work begins on Tuesday, December 2, and runs until Friday, December 12. The initiative aims to enhance the park’s biodiversity while preparing for future environmental challenges. The project will introduce 20 different tree species and varieties to the park. Each newly planted tree will receive an evaporation guard around its trunk to reduce drought stress. Advanced planting methods, including the use of mycorrhizal fungi, will also be applied to improve tree health and resilience. Once completed, the park will feature 36 additional trees, each supported by long-term care and modern planting techniques. The investment of €63,000 reflects the city’s commitment to maintaining green spaces and addressing climate change. Residents can expect a more varied and resilient park landscape in the coming years.
