Rajshahi Cyclists Demand Mandatory Cycle Lanes in Awareness Rally

A bike rally, themed 'Make the city bike-friendly, make bike lanes mandatory', took place in Rajshahi city. Around a hundred cyclists participated in the event, promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy mode of transport. The rally was organised by Duranto Bicycle, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, and Round Table Bangladesh. The rally route covered several key roads in the city, including Eidgah Road, Fire Service Road, C&B Mor, and the DIG office. Ejaz Mahmud Rony of Round Table Bangladesh highlighted that cycling symbolizes a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle. Participants also emphasized the health benefits of cycling and urged local authorities to introduce dedicated bike lanes. RMP traffic division deputy commissioner Nur Alam Siddique distributed crests among the participants. He echoed the environmental benefits of cycling and encouraged residents to adopt it daily. The bike rally in Rajshahi city aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of cycling and the need for dedicated bike lanes. With around a hundred participants, the event successfully promoted the slogan 'Make the city bike-friendly, make bike lanes mandatory'.
