The city of Mönchengladbach, in collaboration with Quartiersmanagement Gladbach and Westend, is set to enhance the Brandts Garden, a small "pocket park" at the heart of the city. As part of this project, a participation action was held at the playground in the spring, gathering opinions from young participants about their preferred play equipment.

Twelve new trees have already been planted, and two benches have been set up in the garden as part of the KoMoNa funding programme. The playground is scheduled for an upgrade, and designs based on children's suggestions will be presented to the public on July 23 at the playground from 4 pm.

The Brandts Garden playground upgrade is one of several measures aimed at enhancing the overall potential of the Brandts Garden. The city has also implemented various measures to improve the garden's ecological sustainability, funded by the KoMoNa program.

An innovative noise protection device is also planned for the Brandts Garden, and all citizens, from young to old, are invited to discuss the plans and the further implemented and planned measures in the garden. The presentation event is open to the general public and encourages active participation in the discussion of the Brandts Garden's future.

For editorial inquiries, Eva Baches from Quartiersmanagement Gladbach and Westend can be contacted at [email protected] or 0177 80 56 900.

While specific upgrade plans and design proposals for the Brandts Garden playground are not yet publicly available in detail, the Mönchengladbach city website or local news sources are the best places to find the latest official updates. According to the participants, the swing and the small carousel were among the most popular play equipment.
