In the coming weeks, the Witters Marine Institute and Scripps (WMIS) has a series of exciting events lined up for its community. On May 19th, WMIS is hosting a Pier Tour & Beach Hangout from 5-7pm, open to both current and prospective members. However, unlike the Student Seminar Series on May 25th, this event will not be streamed on Zoom and does not require RSVP.
On May 25th, WMIS is hosting the Student Seminar Series at 4pm in Hubbs 4500. This event is open only to students and postdocs, and RSVP is required. The seminar will feature the work of Maira Netto and Bethan Wynne-Cattanach, presented by the two researchers themselves. After the seminar, there will be a Happy Hour at Shorerider in La Jolla.
It's important to note that the Student Seminar Series will be streamed on Zoom, unlike the Pier Tour & Beach Hangout on May 19th. The beach hangout will include snacks and an opportunity to socialize with friends, while the seminar will not.
WMIS is also accepting sign-ups for Skill Shares, and the WMIS Skill Shares are still open for sign-ups. The event on May 19th will not feature the work of Maira Netto or Bethan Wynne-Cattanach, but the beach hangout will include fun facts about the ocean from WMIS's Social Media Manager, Anya.
For those interested in attending the events, it's recommended to check the WMIS website or contact the organisation directly for more information, as there are no search results providing specific details for May 2023 events organized by WMIS.
A potential lifestyle event to consider is the Pier Tour & Beach Hangout on May 19th, organized by WMIS, which promises outdoor-living vibes and a chance to enjoy home-and-garden settings by the beach, unlike the Student Seminar Series that focuses on academic presentations. Furthermore, the beach hangout event on May 19th will include fun facts about the ocean from WMIS's Social Media Manager, Anya.
