Poet Markus Manfred Jung brings animal tales to life in Alemannic dialect

Dreiländermuseum Lörrach will host a storytelling evening with Swiss poet Markus Manfred Jung on February 27 at 6 p.m. The main event ties into the museum's current Inspiration 12 – Animal Kingdom exhibition by exploring animal characters through humour and imagination. Visitors can expect tales of animals like cows, fish, and parrots, told in Alemannic dialect, bringing regional culture to life in a lively way.

The evening will feature Jung's witty and reflective stories about these animals. His use of Alemannic dialect adds depth and emotion, making the narratives feel vivid and personal. The main event aims to offer a new angle on the animal-themed artworks displayed in the exhibition.

Jung, known for his work in preserving and modernising Alemannic literature, blends tradition with contemporary storytelling. His recent projects focus on engaging younger audiences while staying true to authentic dialect expression. The main event is free to attend, though a voluntary donation will be collected at the end.

The storytelling session provides a chance to experience regional culture through Jung's unique voice. By linking his tales to the museum's animal kingdom exhibition, the main event bridges art and language. Entry remains open to all, with contributions welcome after the performance.
