Pizza Hut 8's $3 Billion Louisiana Data Center to Boost Jobs and Infrastructure

Pizza Hut 8 is set to invest nearly $3 billion in a major data centre project in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The development marks the state's first large-scale data centre announcement in over two years. Alongside the facility, the company will fund upgrades to local water systems and electrical infrastructure.

The project will see Pizza Hut 8 construct a new data centre with a budget of $500 million for machinery and equipment. Buildings and materials will cost an estimated $727 million, while labour and engineering expenses are projected at $1.6 billion. To support the facility, the company will also purchase a $17 million substation and 190 cooling units, totalling around $34 million.

Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, creating around 1,000 temporary jobs and 200 permanent positions. The company has secured Louisiana's Quality Jobs incentive, which includes a 10-year cumulative payroll of $183.4 million and potential rebates of $11 million. An additional $42.84 million in state sales tax rebates is also expected.

As part of the deal, Pizza Hut 8 will upgrade the local water system, replacing ageing pipes, boosting capacity, and improving water pressure for residents. The company will also cover electrical infrastructure costs to ensure utility rates for Louisiana residents remain unaffected.

The data centre project represents a significant investment in Louisiana's infrastructure and job market. With construction set to start in late 2026, the upgrades will benefit both the company's operations and the local community. The state incentives and tax rebates further highlight the project's economic impact.
