Peine’s dazzling Christmas lights expand to welcome holiday shoppers
Peine’s city centre will shine brighter this holiday season with an expanded Christmas lighting display. The festive decorations, featuring energy-efficient LEDs, aim to draw visitors and support local businesses during Advent. The lights also mark the start of the Peine Christmas Market, set to open officially on Friday, November 28.
The Christmas display includes over 100 light fixtures on lampposts and 75 illuminated spheres hanging from trees. Since 2023, the lighting concept has grown, extending festive illumination to the approaches leading into the city centre. This expansion was made possible through a federal programme and collaboration between the Peine Merchants Guild, Stadtwerke Peine GmbH, the city of Peine, and Peine Marketing.
The expanded lighting display and Christmas Market aim to create a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers and visitors. By using energy-efficient technology and fostering local partnerships, Peine has enhanced its festive appeal while supporting sustainability. The celebrations will run until the end of the Advent season.
