Orange Maroc Launches Africa’s Largest Data Centre to Power Digital Growth

Orange Maroc has opened a new high-tech data centre in Morocco, named Orange Tech, which is the largest of its kind in Africa and reinforces the company's position as a leader in digital innovation. The facility aims to meet growing needs for cloud services, hosting, and cybersecurity across the region. The data centre was officially launched to support Morocco's digital growth, aligning with national strategies like Maroc Digital 2030 and the New Development Model, both designed to accelerate technological progress. Orange Tech starts with an initial capacity of 1.5 MW and has earned certification from the UPTIME Institute, confirming its reliability and operational standards. Sustainability is also a key feature, as the site runs on over 1,000 solar panels to cut energy use and lower its environmental impact. The project strengthens Orange Maroc's role in driving digital transformation. While details about its leadership remain undisclosed, the centre is set to play a major part in the country's tech infrastructure. Orange Tech will provide essential services for businesses and government initiatives, positioning it as a critical asset for Morocco's digital future. The centre is now operational and ready to support the region's expanding tech demands.
