Ohio River Paddlefest Celebrates 25 Years with Record-Breaking Scenic Routes

Ohio River Paddlefest, the largest paddling event in the US, turns 25 this year. The celebration takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2023, with two scenic routes along the Ohio River. Organisers anticipate record-breaking attendance for the anniversary edition.

The weekend begins early with the Outdoors for All Expo on Friday, July 31. This free event at Schmidt Recreation Complex will feature over 70 exhibitors, live music, and family-friendly activities.

Registration for Paddlefest is already open, with discounted early-bird pricing available until April 30. Participants can choose between a 9-mile or a 4.5-mile paddle, both starting at Schmidt Recreation Complex. The shorter route ends at Public Landing in Downtown Cincinnati, while the longer one finishes at Gilday Recreation Complex in Riverside.

Boat rentals will be offered, but organisers advise booking soon, as availability may run out. After the paddle, the 9-mile route's Finish Line Festival will include food trucks, music, and beer for participants to enjoy.

The 25th Ohio River Paddlefest promises a weekend of outdoor fun. Early registration and boat rentals are available, though organisers warn spaces may fill quickly. The event combines paddling, live entertainment, and community activities along the Ohio River.
