Offenbach schools expand with €5M prefab wooden classrooms by year’s end

Three schools in the Offenbach district are set to expand with new prefabricated wooden modules. The district council has greenlit the project, investing around €5 million in the upgrades. Construction will provide much-needed space before the end of the year.

The expansions will affect Matthias-Claudius School in Heusenstamm-Rembrücken, Goethe School in Mühlheim, and Wilhelm Busch School in Rodgau-Jügesheim. Each site will receive pre-assembled modular units, allowing for quick installation and immediate use.

Matthias-Claudius School will gain one new classroom, along with a special education group room and an office for school social services. Additional utility spaces will also be added to support daily operations.

Wilhelm Busch School will see the largest expansion, with four new classrooms, dedicated group and childcare areas, and an office for school social services. The school will also receive ancillary rooms and upgraded restroom facilities.

Goethe School’s expansion will include two new classrooms, supported by extra facilities to meet growing needs.

The prefabricated modules will arrive ready for use, ensuring the schools can start benefiting from the new spaces later this year. The €5 million investment aims to address capacity issues and improve learning environments across the district.
