Novorossiysk’s Bold Plan to Plant 1.5 Million Trees by 2025
Novorossiysk is launching the Green Framework project to transform its urban landscape. The initiative plans to plant 1.5 million trees and shrubs across the city, including areas damaged by fires. Officials say the scheme will balance the city’s industrial and tourist needs while improving its appearance.
The project will unfold in stages over several years. Work begins with a full inventory of existing green spaces, followed by the selection of tree species best suited to the local climate. Over 100 million rubles have been earmarked for the beautification programme, with completion targeted by 2025.
The Green Framework project marks a major investment in Novorossiysk’s future. With 1.5 million new trees and shrubs planned, the city expects visible improvements in its green spaces by 2025. Funding and expert support will ensure the initiative’s long-term success.
