Nidau Preserves History Online: 'Nidau Clown Papers' Now Digitized
The town of Nidau has preserved its rich history for the digital age. It has digitized all 16 editions of the 'Nidau Clown Papers', making them freely accessible online. This project aims to share the valuable historical content with the public more easily.
The 'Nidau Clown Papers' were a biennial publication, released every two years from 1990 to 2020. They were published in mid-December, tied to Nidau’s former 'Chlouser' festival. The papers featured well-researched articles on local history, compiled by local historians Robert Liechti and Kurt Maibach.
The digitization project was driven by the desire to make this historical content more accessible. After completion, the 'Nidau Clown Papers' Foundation will dissolve, transferring its remaining assets to a similar organization.
The 'Nidau Clown Papers' are now freely accessible online, thanks to the town's digitization project. This ensures that the valuable historical content remains available to the public, even after the dissolution of the foundation that supported its creation.
