Neuwied Opens Volunteer Roles in Firefighting and Youth Work for April 2024
The city of Neuwied is offering young adults the chance to take part in a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ). Three positions are available with the Neuwied Fire Department, while the Municipal Children and Youth Office (KiJub) is seeking one volunteer. Both roles start on April 1 and provide hands-on experience in public service and youth work.
The Neuwied Fire Department's FSJ programme integrates volunteers into daily operations and youth outreach activities. Applicants must hold a Class B driver's licence, though prior training as a squad leader is helpful but not required. Those interested can contact Fred Gross at 02631/802 136 or email [email protected] for further details.
Meanwhile, the KiJub is looking for a volunteer to support its youth services. Tasks include assisting with holiday programmes, administrative work, and event planning, giving participants insight into social pedagogy. Candidates must be at least 18 and hold a valid driver's licence. Questions about this role can be directed to KiJub director Jürgen Gügel at 02631/802 170 or kijub@ourwebsite.
Applications for both positions should be sent by post to Neuwied City Administration. The FSJ is designed to help young adults explore career paths, gain practical experience, and ease their transition into working life.
The FSJ roles in Neuwied provide structured opportunities for young people to engage in community service. With positions available in both emergency services and youth support, participants will develop skills while contributing to local initiatives. Applications are now open for an April 1 start.
