Neustark to Launch First Carbon Removal Certificates by 2026 in Landmark Deal
Neustark, a European carbon removal specialist, is set to issue its first Carbon Removal Certificates (CORCs) in 2026, following a collaboration with Puro.earth. The partnership will see Neustark's biogenic CO2 capture and mineralization process certified under Puro.earth's Carbonated Materials methodology.
Neustark operates multiple capture and storage sites across Europe, with plans to expand to meet growing demand for verified, durable removals. The company captures biogenic CO2 and transports it to concrete recycling facilities. There, it reacts with calcium-rich demolition concrete to form stable carbonates, creating a long-term carbon sink.
Puro.earth, a global carbon removal marketplace, is supporting Neustark's certification journey. The partnership expands Puro.earth's supplier network to over 300 verified providers. Neustark's technology not only removes CO2 but also converts demolition concrete into a valuable secondary aggregate for construction use.
Neustark's CORCs will be issued within a registry with standardized accounting and audit trails, ensuring transparency and traceability. Executives and investors are advised to monitor the issuance cadence, cost trajectories, and integrity frameworks of Neustark's projects. The collaboration between Neustark and Puro.earth demonstrates the potential of mineralization credits to slot into corporate portfolios, particularly where buyers seek geographic proximity and evidence of co-benefits in circular construction.
