Neustadt’s West District Library launches 18th annual book sponsorship drive

The West District Library in Neustadt is inviting the public to support its annual book sponsorship drive. The main event, now in its 18th year, will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, outside the Thalia bookstore at Neustadt Center. Organisers hope to gather donations for a wide range of books, from children’s stories to biographies.

The initiative was started by Thomas Felke, a local advocate for literacy and education. For nearly two decades, he has championed the programme, encouraging residents to contribute. The library’s slogan, 'There’s nothing good unless you do it,' reflects the spirit of community involvement behind the drive.

The drive aims to expand the library’s resources through public contributions. Donated books will become part of the permanent collection, available for all visitors. The event continues a long-standing tradition of community-backed literacy in Neustadt.
