Soon: State Garden Show - Neuss is 'more than a Shooting Festival' - Neuss Transforms a Racetrack Into a Vibrant Urban Park for 2025 Horticultural Show
Neuss is preparing to host its State Horticultural Show from April 16 to October 11. The event will transform a former horse racing track into a sprawling urban park at the city's heart. Organisers expect over 650,000 visitors to explore the 38-hectare site during the six-month celebration.
The show's centrepiece is a newly created green space, where more than 2,200 trees have been planted. Around €20 million of the €60 million budget was dedicated to revitalising this area, turning it into a lush oasis. Visitors will find three large adventure playgrounds, expansive leisure spaces, and over 1,000 events spread across the site.
Accessibility has been a key focus, with the park reachable by foot, tram, car, or the city's cycle superhighway. Funding of roughly €25 million came from grants, supporting the project's development. The event aims to highlight Neuss's cultural diversity and commitment to sustainability. After the show closes, 95 percent of the structures built for it will remain in place. This ensures a lasting legacy for the city, preserving the new park and its facilities for future use.
The Neuss State Horticultural Show will run until October 11, offering a mix of nature, culture, and leisure. With workshops, tours, and events for all ages, the park is set to become a permanent green hub. The investment in sustainability and accessibility will leave a long-term mark on the city.
