Nelson Chow’s Mountain Residence Redefines Luxury Living in Hong Kong

Nelson Chow's latest masterpiece, the Mountain Residence, graces Hong Kong's Mount Beacon in Kowloon. This 4,500 sq ft apartment has been transformed into a serene, three-bedroom family sanctuary with a study and games room, designed for a client seeking a peaceful retreat for their family, including elderly parents.

The residence exudes bespoke luxury, harmoniously blending functionality and nature-inspired tranquility. Italian travertine, used extensively throughout, contrasts with warm teak wood cabinetry, creating a tactile, inviting space with no sharp corners. Sustainability is evident in the use of natural, durable materials like bamboo and travertine, chosen to age gracefully and minimize environmental impact.

A standout feature is the complex, kimono-inspired TV cabinet-slash-fireplace. Its intricate, three-dimensional organic screens glide apart seamlessly, revealing a warm, gallery-like atmosphere when closed. The living room, Nelson Chow's favorite space, showcases this piece alongside panoramic skyline views. The furniture, sourced from international design brands like May Galerie and Cassina, has been carefully selected to create a pristine, thoughtfully assembled ensemble.

The Mountain Residence reflects Nelson Chow's commitment to creating timeless, personal, and deeply connected spaces. With upcoming projects in Hangzhou, Hong Kong, and Dubai, his practice continues to expand, leaving a lasting impression on the global design scene.
