Neiox Secures Rs 75 Lakh Grant for Carbon-Negative Marine Hull Coating

In a significant development for sustainable maritime innovation, Neiox Eco Cycle, a deeptech climate startup, has secured a Rs 75 lakh prototyping grant from Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL). The grant was announced at a recent function held at IIM Kozhikode, attended by representatives from CSL and LIVE IIM Kozhikode.

Neiox operates at the intersection of climate change action, public health innovation, and sustainable industrial transformation. The grant will support the development of the world's first sustainable, non-toxic, carbon-negative marine hull coating. This innovative coating, derived from captured air pollutants, boasts anti-corrosive and anti-biofouling properties. It enhances ship fuel efficiency, cuts CO2 emissions, and protects marine ecosystems. Akhil Raj Pottekkat, Founder and CEO of Neiox, signed the official agreement at the event.

The Rs 75 lakh grant from CSL will enable Neiox to advance its groundbreaking marine hull coating technology. This innovation promises substantial environmental benefits, contributing to both climate change action and marine ecosystem preservation.
