"Museums Night" Kicks Off Street Festivities on Lubinsk Avenue in Omsk

Beginning this weekend and continuing until the end of August, the heart of Omsk will transform into a vibrant cultural hub as Lenin Street becomes pedestrianized on weekends. Kicking off the series of weekend cultural events is the "Museum Night" from May 17 to 19, which this year expands beyond museum walls to encompass the city's central streets.

More than 40 participating platforms—ranging from museums and exhibition halls to open spaces—will join forces to offer a diverse program that includes concerts, masterclasses, performances, and gastronomic presentations. Over 20 special shuttles will traverse four sightseeing routes, providing stops, discounted entry tickets, and knowledgeable guides for visitors. Tickets and brochures are already available for purchase.

Not limited to indoor venues, the festivities will spill onto Chokana Valikhanova Street, Museum Street, the City Garden, and Dzerzhinsky Square near the Vrubel Museum. The three-day event promises an abundance of cultural attractions, alongside interactive dance performances, craft exhibitions, and creative collective displays.

Following the "Museum Night," several events are planned for the closed Lubinsky Prospekt, offering a continuous stream of entertainment:

  • May 24-26: The national "Run. RF" with surrounding festivities in the City Garden and Dzerzhinsky Park
  • May 30 - June 1: "Green Marathon" filled with music and dancing
  • June 12: Russia Day and the "Russia is Us" forum featuring a parade of nations, concerts, and national cuisines
  • June 29-30: Youth Day, a significant celebration due to Omsk being designated the youth capital of Russia

Several stationary stages will be installed in strategic locations, such as the Vrubel monument, Museum Street, "Lubochka," and the intersection of Lenin and Partizansky Streets. These stages will not disrupt traffic during the week.

As the city administration promises, weekends will see the city center come alive with concerts, exhibitions, food vendors, and a festive atmosphere. Detailed schedules can be found on official resources and social media channels.

Note that a section of Lenin Street in Omsk will remain pedestrianized until the end of August, making it the ideal destination for both locals and visitors seeking a unique blend of culture, entertainment, and culinary delights. For the most accurate and up-to-date information about planned events and activities beyond the "Museum Night," checking local event calendars or contacting event organizers directly is recommended.
