Münster City Museum Launches 'Quiet Hour' for Sensory-Friendly Visits

Münster City Museum introduces 'Quite Hour', a dedicated time for visitors with sensory sensitivities or on the autism spectrum. The initiative includes a 'Quite Hour Path' app and brochure, a designated quiet space, and communication cards. The museum also hosts special exhibitions like '600 Years – Werner Rolevink' and 'Colonialism Thematic Space', with related events such as 'Family Sunday' and guided tours.

The 'Quite Hour' takes place on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM, with loud noise sources turned off and no guided tours. All visitors are welcome, and the museum team requests quiet movement and minimal conversation. The 'Quite Hour Path' helps visitors prepare for their visit and reduce sensory overload.

The 'Colonialism Thematic Space' exhibition explores German colonial history, with a public guided tour on October 25 at 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, the '600 Years – Werner Rolevink' exhibition, open since October 26, 2023, showcases the oldest printed book in the City Museum’s collection and will close on January 28, 2024. 'Family Sunday' on October 26 at 3:00 PM features a guided tour called 'Child’s Play', focusing on the role of children in earlier times.

Münster City Museum's 'Quite Hour' and related initiatives aim to make the museum experience more inclusive and enjoyable for all visitors. Upcoming events include the 'Colonialism Thematic Space' guided tour on October 25 and the 'Family Sunday' event on October 26. The '600 Years – Werner Rolevink' exhibition concludes on October 26, marking the end of its successful run.
