Mumbai Apartment Transformed Into a Storytelling Haven with Indian Craftsmanship

A 1,350 sq ft apartment in Mumbai’s Oberoi Sky City has been transformed into a conversation-friendly home rich in Indian motifs. The redesign was led by Sahiba Madan, Principal Architect at Insitu Design Studio. Her team, including Ami Moody and Ishant Arora, worked closely with the owners to create a space that blends storytelling with old-world charm.

The project began when a couple approached Insitu Design Studio to reimagine their three-bedroom apartment. They wanted a home that would encourage family discussions while showcasing traditional Indian design elements. Sahiba Madan took the lead, guiding a collaborative effort that included key contributions from team members Ami Moody and Ishant Arora.

The final design features intricate motifs across walls, furniture, and even the flooring. Each detail was chosen to spark curiosity and conversation. Natural light plays a central role, highlighting the craftsmanship and adding warmth to the old-world accents throughout the space.

The redesigned apartment now stands as a blend of functionality and cultural storytelling. Its handcrafted details and thoughtful lighting create an inviting atmosphere for family interactions. The project reflects the studio’s ability to merge modern living with heritage-inspired design.
