In the picturesque town of Hohenfelser, a vibrant parish festival recently took place, attracting numerous visitors on a perfect weather day. The event was organised by the parish council, with the Women's Association hosting an Aperol party to kick off the festivities on Friday.

During the church service, Father Markus Lettner, the parish priest, invited the faithful to "listen" to the images that adorn the Hohenfelser Church. He emphasised the historical significance of these visual representations, particularly in an era when many could not read or write.

Father Lettner praised the over 300-year-old Hohenfelser Church, stating that the entire Holy Scripture is depicted within its walls. The main ceiling painting represents the Scapular Festival, and during the parish mass and the Scapular Brotherhood service, Father Lettner highlighted that the Scapular Festival is represented in two places within the church.

A picture, usually hung in the rectory, was placed in front of the Marian altar during the festival to represent the Scapular Festival. The church choir, under the direction of Volker Burkhard, provided musical accompaniment for the service, and the early morning mass was musically accompanied by the Kolping Youth Brass Band.

The kindergarten children added a delightful touch to the festival with their performances. They showcased various songs, a "Forest Theater", and the Hare and Fox dance. The kindergarten staff also offered a variety of children's activities, including crafting and skill games.

Father Lettner welcomed over 60 cyclists and pilgrims from Oberpfraundorf, Rechberg, and Schmidmühlen. The occasion was also marked by the induction of new members, including women, into the Scapular Brotherhood.

In his address, Father Lettner emphasised the importance of community involvement, encouraging the parishioners to continue their active participation in the parish. He concluded by saying, "Those who walk together in community cannot go astray."

On Saturday, the parish council took charge of the festival organisation, while the Women's Association provided coffee and cake. The festival concluded on a high note, reinforcing the spirit of unity and fellowship within the Hohenfelser community.

The Women's Association presented an Aperol party at home, setting the tone for the parish festival's weekend events. Amidst the festivities, Father Lettner called for attention to the lifestyle and home-and-garden aesthetics of Hohenfelser Church, a 300-year-old testament of history, where the Scapular Festival is not only depicted in the main ceiling painting but also in another significant location.
